Lucy Maud Montgomery

About the Author

Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874–1942) was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She left to attend college, but later returned to teach and write stories set on her home island. Her best-known work, Anne of Green Gables, was published in 1908 to international success. The first in a series of “Anne” books, the novel continues to be a perennial favorite. Montgomery also published several other book series, stories, and standalone novels, including her semi-autobiographical “Emily” trilogy.
